Photography
I have been photographing the Isle of Wight for years — its water, its weather, and the particular quality of light that makes this island unlike anywhere else. The camera has become the way I pay close attention: to a tide running hard through the Needles, to the fleet rounding St Catherine’s Point at dawn, to the downland in November when the tourists are gone and the island is entirely itself.

Landscapes
The island from the land — its chalk downs, ancient villages, and the slow drama of the seasons across a landscape that has changed little in a century.

The Solent, the Channel, and the waters that surround the island in all weathers and all seasons — from flat calm to a Force 7 running up from the south-west.
The Needles
The chalk stacks at the western tip of the island — at sunrise, at dusk, in sea mist, and in the raking winter light that turns them briefly gold.

Cowes Week
Eight days of racing on the Solent every August — one of the oldest and largest sailing regattas in the world, photographed across the town, the water, and the spectator fleet.
